I mean in comparison to a well known Japanese company? p>

I was shocked to realize that it must be less than a thousand of a percent, less than 0,001% (per mille), that has ever contributed to Wikimedias’s mission to make information free to everyone (they say less than 1%, but that cannot be correct, unfortunately).
Honestly, it sickness me to even contemplate the idea that I (personally) have contributed more than any news media outlet, paper or agency have done in the entire the World.
The fact that people are making a living of or is using Wikipedia commercially every single second without contributing a single dime or cent is simply re-vaulting!
Imagine a world in which every single human being can freely share in the sum of all knowledge.
We’re a non-profit. Less than 1% of our readers give, but we manage to serve hundreds of millions of people per month. Imagine if everyone gave? We could transform the way knowledge is shared online.
– 200,000+ editors contribute to Wikimedia projects every month
– 47+ million media files on Wikimedia Commons
– 1+ billion unique devices access Wikimedia projects every month
The average donation is a reported (we don’t want “fake news”), $15 per 6,1 million donations.
It is a non-profit organization and that makes for an annual budget of roughly $91,5 millions. However, it is one of the top-ten most visited sites of the entire planet and it is “free”.
I’ve donated above the average in the past. Did I do it again? Yes, I recently donated, but below the average this time around.
Simple Q: What is wrong with you people? In reality?
Four words… Doc Scott and “Shadow Boxing”* (in all actuality that’s five words).
A long time ago. When I waited an entire evening to hear one track and ended up leaning on the stack of 10″ speakers. And till’ this day I can’t understand how I did not loose my hearing in that very moment.
I was leaning on the two meter high 10” stack… and I should have become deaf. Before or after? No, never. It was Doc Scott…
My back was literally against the stones!
Playing the same track and or break + 20 times in a row will not necessarily render you popular, but it has to be done, right?
My brothers and sisters I truly love thee! Never, ever, ever stop.
* It is the best track ever produced. Sorry.
** “Jag hatar drum’n’bass!” Was shouted from below, at street level and directed towards my balcony (I live on the third floor). I can understand the sentiment, because there is nothing more fanatic than a true d’n’b fiend. Not in this World and I do know this. There is no point trying to deny it any longer.
*** If you have witnessed speakers moving across the floor making grooves, then you know about the bass… You see/hear the kilos moving themselves across a marble floor and making grooves. When the strucal integrity of the building is at risk (the roof might cave in). Then you will become a believer. In as many words: Fastfood!
**** Yes, it is my lighter.
It is at least a quarter of a block in the inner most city – at the very core of my city and that would be Stockholm.
Function? The sole function is to park auto carriages (cars) in the center of the city.
Mind you, this was engineered – to funnel traffic into the core of the city. That was the original idea.
Then shortly (a decade or so) after this feat was achieved the decision was made to reroute the traffic around the city instead (like in all European cities).
Yet, this plot is one of the most “valuable” and attractive in the entire city. I claim that it is simply a legacy of 50/60’s city planning.
Incidentally my farther was involved in similar projects in the very same time period that I’m referring to but in a place far, far away.
I’m a concrete “Brutalist” at heart architecturally speaking.
Meaning? I really like how this building portraits itself. By every section/floor, dominantly geometrical, it is a brutally beautiful building. La cité (in my mind) is a combination of functionality and aesthetics.
However, it is a parking lot, a building for stationary cars, the size of a quarter of a block in the very center of La cité?
And this one is not the only one. There are at least ten of them.
Document thoroughly and then re-build.
To view a part of the back of the building. Please see: La Cité II.
The recently passed EU-all-encompassing-laws-on-copyright? That must be adapted (more or less) to the 27 or possibly 28 (that would be the UK…) member states’ National laws?
First off, and I want to make this perfectly clear. I am an European citizen.
It is true that my birthright happens to be Swedish, but foremost: I am French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Irish, Greek… and I stand firm with the idea of an undivided and United Europe.
As far as the legislation goes? I’m pretty sure that I was all against it all from the beginning, even though I must admit I do not know enough about the details*.
What I can say though, is that when I experienced it for the first time in the early 90’s (during my education), “it” would be the “Internet”.
It was a revelation/revolution () and I saw something which I had never seen before and that I have not seen since then (something which some my pears share with me but we feel very strongly about).
What did you see? I saw an opportunity for change, a means to spread knowledge globally, an universal digital** library accessible to all and most importantly the possibility of global freedom of thought for everyone.
This all made me exuberantly hopeful and In my mind (echo in my mind, in my mind, in my mind.***). The whole point of the common “Internet”, was the entire idea of, what it was meant to be, was the free distribution of ideas and information for everyone and everybody.
This has been said so many times that I blush to mention it again. But, it is still my honest and deepest believe.
* Sure, it is a complex matter. However, is the question whether the “free” Internet and the “Big” corporations are in opposition or is it whether the “Big” corporations should pay the individual artists contributing the content? The Internet is distributed by definition, but that has nothing to do with with copyright.
Copyright existed long before the dawn of the Internet and it has not changed since then. Whatever an individual creates belongs to the individual that created it to begin with the rest is economics.
Copyright does not have anything to do with economics necessarily. The “Big” corporations on the other hand do.
** A global Mesh-WiFi-Net is more than feasible especially where the sun is shining all day long.
*** It is a song I’m referencing to.
Bass music is not pop-music and it will never ever will be that.
Bass music is not the same… it is not a bag of of assorted liquored, you can not “play-list” together a set. In reality you can not ever “play-list” any set. That would be either skills or simple respect.
And I swear, if I’m the last one thing living on this earth the bass will never be treated like that.
– Why? What, do you think? What, is always the answer to that very question? It is pure conviction and years’ served.
– What? You start out young (it is just ridiculous, how would you start out if not young…).
– How many times have I’ve seen this, have many years have I heard that? So, since my birthday is coming up? And I actually heard someone saying on the radio (as it was a good thing), an up-and-coming:
“I’m not only about the music…*”
– What the hell does that mean? It can never be anything about the music…
“I’m on social media…” the confusion is/must be total.
And, just, when I got some hope it is shattered immediately. Did I mention that my birthday is coming up? Q? How many years?
– When actually I are you born? I mean what year are you born?
And now you do not have the correct permit to use the bass in any way you see fit. And no you are not allowed to lay on any rhymes you see fit, what-never on the sacred bass.
And no, you are not allowed to use the digital power at your flimsy nervous hands right now to release what-ever.
This bass abuse has to stop and it will be stopped.
And you will show decades of the: 303, 707 and 808 their due respect.
And no, this is not some kind of “Insta”/”Twitter” joke… F**K that!
* An vocal artist using the eternal? Let me irritate: “I’m not only about the music…” making/misusing bass music. No, can’t have that. It needs to be stopped, right now.
xxx0 – This is (honestly) the 800th published post. What? Well, some are private and some have simply been deleted, if you happen to be numeric… like I am.
– The simple question is this one: what is the difference between “old-school” and “history”?
Primarily, (for me in any event), is musical and I’m confident in my belief that it affects every aspect of human activity.
So, what is the difference? Well, to begin with, today’s date is: Tuesday, 5 March 2019, right?
I could change the publishing date of this post or any other post here to any date and to any time (down to the second), but I don’t want to do that – it would upset my entire chronology, and that would render them useless to me.
The 1st ever post is this one: Funckarma, Part 5 [DUB Recordings – DUB 23, 2002] and it was published on May 23, 2002 @ 03:00. It was posted then and has remained untouched since then and in a jiffy exactly as it appeared almost 17 years ago.
The posts are all posted in sequence down to the second, however, I could re-arrange them. I could give them a different date and that is down to the second – they (the/my posts) are all are housed in a database and the last one could very well be first and vice-versa, their “time-stamp” could be anything and they can be changed/re-arranged at any moment.
– What does this entail?
That is when: history literally gets lost, because it is/will get increasingly difficult (impossible) keeping track of time it self. Is this a genuine problem and why would anyone want to do that?*
Well, I could re-order everyone of them how I would see fit. Now, You may want to pause for a bit and think about what the big “social.media” companies can/will and do with “your” data every second of the day…**
– Do I believe it to be a significant problem?
– I do. Actually it has been a problem with the Internet from the get go. There is an immense problem with continuity and traceability (and it it is not only a theoretical one. I have owned several domains/sites that would have been lost forever or may have been if I hadn’t try to safeguard them for prosperity.).
If the so-called block-chain concept can address this problem despite all the hype it is well worth investigating.
Imagine you could: rewrite every book, retake or remake every photo, song , film or painting? What would happen to a re-read of a book or a revisit of a painting/film etc.? What would happen at the discovery that it is nothing at all like the memory of what you read?
If you suddenly would return to Le Louvre in Paris just to discover that “Mona Lisa” is actually a painting of the famous ‘Mon Lucien’?
I’m sorry to inform you all that it has already happened. So, what ever brought this whole charade on?
– The search for the future, a lack of education and some other things.
Hearing a vocally based commercial success from the 90’s being played at twice the recorded speed at rinse.fm and being presented as new and fresh? A complete slaughter of a track that was at the time an exploit of a “sound” and hard, hard work down in the underground being unappreciated. It is what seems like a complete loss of (musical) history.
– Will you ever, ever, ever get to the point?
– Right… The difference? “Old-school” is self-experienced and “History” is the rest.** If you are born in the 90’s rather than the 70’s it will be, which one of the two?
* I have a change log, a list of revisions and I can revert if I feel like to. This post has, let me check… about 35 revisions including one autosave thus far. The first mentioned post has 17 revisions and the first is from
** You need to understand that.
*** – That’s it? Honestly? One sentence? “‘Old-school’ is self-experienced and ‘History’ is the rest.”
Do I own one? Helas, I don’t but I will eventually do so. Proper respect right there!
For the record this is meant to be a complement.
I think that you’re much to sensible for being hardcore (generation), a complement is nothing but a complement and if I wanted to diss you – then you would know.
The misunderstandings are all ever present and they are totally unnecessary.
Respect the knowledge and relax. In the name of the Lord. Like you and what you’re doing – however, no one can ignore history and that is fact.
Never mind, it is not not at all what happened and it lasted for approximately 15 seconds. I simply like the stance and I love a strong woman with headphones.
I just discovered this track and it is related. Please don’t misunderstand. I like fierce! Last but not least, do not try/attempt to fake the funk…
Tagga ner syrran, det är inte mitt problem. Jag säger bara saker som de är. Tagga ner brosan, därför det är inte mitt problem. Tagga ner, tagga ner, tagga ner, ner, ner, tagga ner. Tagga ner dig själv! Du borde veta mycket bättre… är du efter?
Oh, My Lord! I do have some experience in the field.
© Tagga ner remix – Cleo
If it happens to be at: 01:30 in my fair Stockholm… on my very own and alone. In that case I mean in an extremely bad mood.
However, that is a quintessential non-constructive mood (every single time).
To dance is to pray
to pray is to heal.
The above on the other hand is not: A Tribe Called Red. It is obviously the complete opposite of non-constructiveness.
