Monoceros, When I Was A Child I Wanted To be An Astronaut [Expanding Records – ECD18:04, 2005]

monoceros_as_a_childThe second of the two most recently released albums on Expanding. “When I was a child I wanted to be an astronaut” was released simultaneously with Lambent’s “These Days” as Expanding set up this double-release scheme in Jan 2005. The album is fantastic and reveals an artist boasting of mature production talent. As has been the case with album releases and debuts on Expanding before “When I was a child I wanted to be an astronaut” is following the schematic and is naturally Monoceros debut album. Plentiful of soon-to-be classic Expanding moments are to be found on this album in particular “Some Day”, “Centaur” and “Cignus” reach musical heights and every single track with world-class composition, sound selection and production. They’re all set to adhere fully to Expanding’s self-explanatory and in these times bold motto: beautiful electronic music. That could be said of the rest of the release as well for that matter. Expanding keep on finding raw new talent, keep releasing pure quality and they’ve since long left the days of being unknown. The catalogue numbers keep on getting higher they’ve reached 18 and are still counting. Finally something for all fans of Expanding: rest assured that there’s more in store, in fact there’s a lot more. Their very own Benge is releasing a new full-length album and it’s bound to turn some heads. Until the next fabulous Expanding moment, tata!
