The Reassembly Is Concluded

Unit 1 and 2 are online again!

The unforeseen hardware problems were eventually resolved.

Regarding hardware problems? They always take so long time to resolve. After all this time I still tend to overlook them.

It is the last place I look, a connection here or a ribbon there… then I recall that they’re still physical machines.

0,1 mm off and the problems will start. If identified and not physically broken? Then it can be fixed.

The hours involved in hardware troubleshooting? Taking anything a apart and putting it together again? And again and eventually knowing what each part is doing?

The hesitation? But if I take this apart will I be able to put it together ever again? Is that unreasonable/foolish?

Yes, of course it is, but then again, the satisfaction of finding a solution to very concrete problems. It is worth it, every time. A piece of high-grade paper was the solution, 0,1 mm gap = many hours. The machine is performing as it was designed to.

Merak, the workhorse in the command centre came back online immediately. Alkaid was struggling, is online and up and running now, but not performing at 100% (the LCD has failed beyond repair and will have to be replaced, it is simply broken).

The service is hard, yes, even for machines.

My renegade hardware is now reassembled and up and running. I had to strip them down to their bones and reassemble them. Reconfigure them to work as they were originally intended (specs.).

In these times of visual excess?

Yes, you are correct it is the exact same picture, but it is inverted. Kitchen table. However, that was before I reassembled the machines. Hence, the inverted image…

Simply put, machines and bass makes sense to me, people? No, not so much…
